Abstract:
Using the R-mode factor analysis method, the paper statistically processes the data from 1:50 000 stream sediment geochemical survey in Dachebeigou area, Jilin Province. Seven representative factor combination types are extracted, and geochemical zoning is performed based on the scores of each factor combination to create the element association zoning map. Thus, the geochemical statistical information represented visually by all the stream sediment samples in the study area is exhibited in a block-based format. The interpretation and analysis of this map reveal not only the geochemical anomalies dominated by corresponding element associations in different sections and their geological genesis, but also the background content characteristics of relevant elements, which provides concise and clear references for comprehensively understanding the geological and geochemical metallogenic features of the region. Combined with the verification of stream sediment anomalies, it is concluded that the study area holds significant prospecting potential for gold, copper-nickel, and niobium deposits.
