RESEARCH ON THE METALLOGENETIC REGULARITIES AND PREDICTION OF GOLD DEPOSITS IN SOUTHWESTERN HUNAN PROVINCE

    • There are two types of gold deposits in Southwestern Hunan Province. One is large (single) quartz vein type. The other is thin (network) quartz vein type. The ore occurs in the volcano-sedimentary gold-bearing formation of Neoproterozoic Banxi group. Gold mineralization is strictly controlled by brittle-ductile shear zone. The metallogenic features from geological remote sensing show that the area is an idea prospect target with great potential. More attention should be paid on the research of fracture zone altered rock type of gold, besides the quartz vein type.
