CHARACTERISTICS OF SOIL BACKGROUND VALUE IN HETAO AREA, INNER MONGOLIA

Based on the multi-target regional geochemical survey for surficial soil in Hetao area, Inner Mongolia, the background value of soil is analyzed. The result shows that most of the element contents in the area are lower than those in the rest regions of China as well as in the world. However, some elements are higher in content than other areas, such as CaO, MgO, As and F. Such analysis of the background value of soil will provide basic data for local agriculture, environment and endemic disease study.
